About this room

Source-attributed background. The organization says its gatherings began as the T Anchor Roundup and were held at the former ranch and at the Amarillo Fairgrounds. It changed its name to the Western Cowpunchers Association in 1941 and says Amos McBride donated land north of Amarillo in 1946 for the hall it still occupies.

This background relies primarily on the venue or venue-supplied material rather than independent corroboration. KECB keeps research conflicts and confidence notes private.
