About this room

Whiskey River opened on FM 1960 in the Willowbrook area with a grand opening on Saturday, February 13, 2010, in a building that had been a Sam's Boat restaurant weeks earlier. Co-owners Mario Anzaldua and Larkin Stallings - who had worked together in the Houston nightclub business since the early 1980s and already ran several clubs across the metro - turned it around fast. Their explanation for the speed was simply that they had all worked together so long. It opened as a country and western room with rustic decor, antique signs, a mechanical bull in the corner, and a chandelier hung above the dance floor. It runs Thursday through Sunday nights, 21 and over, and has since become the flagship of a multi-location company.
