The sequence
Immediate and brief only if safety requires it.
Substantive feedback after service, privately.
Against a standard, not against an opinion.
And watch the output afterward.
The decisions
Now or later. Correction during service in front of the room produces a defensive response and rarely changes behavior, per Module 53.
The exception is safety, and it should be brief.
Against what. A reference, not a preference — per Module 50, two people comparing memories cannot converge, and a correction with no reference behind it is an opinion.
And whether the delivery was the problem. Watch the output after the correction. If it got worse, the delivery was the problem rather than the content — which is a diagnostic the lead can run on themselves.
What you are reading
The output after, not the response during.
And whether the same correction is being given repeatedly. If it is, the correction is not working and something else is going on — usually a missing cue rather than a missing effort.
What goes wrong here
Corrected publicly. A cook who gets slower and more error-prone.
Corrected against a preference.
And the same correction given for weeks without asking why it is not taking.
Verification
Track whether a correction changed the output. If it did not, the finding is about the correction.
