The following is a rough illustration of the kinds of terms a release addresses, to help you brief an attorney. It is not a valid release, not legal advice, and must be drafted or reviewed by a licensed Texas attorney before any use.

A real release, prepared by counsel, typically addresses points like these:

The person grants permission to record their image / likeness at the named event.

The permitted uses are specified (e.g. promotion of the dance community, on named channels).

Whether the permission is limited or ongoing, and how it can be withdrawn.

That the person is an adult, or that a parent / guardian consents for a minor.

Signature, printed name, date, and contact — executed on the attorney’s document, not this one.

Filming Well — The Craft

Favor wide, celebratory shots of a happy floor over tight zooms on an individual.

Capture people who are clearly delighted, not someone struggling, self-conscious, or caught unaware.

Show the triumph, not the fumble; the collective joy, not one person’s bad night.

Film people the way you’d want to be filmed — generously, with consent and care. It’s better content, too.
