Part of the Cocktail Architecture school. Class 1 of 6.
The capability: you can hear a description and name the structure before the guest finishes.
Prerequisites: Module 34.
The practice
Sort your entire menu into the eight structures. Anything that does not fit is worth examining rather than forcing.
Then sort fifty classics.
Then have someone describe a drink you do not know and name the structure before building anything. Weekly, for three months.
And practice the first question every time: is there citrus, dairy, egg, or purée? That single question sorts shake from stir and it sorts most of the canon.
The reference
The eight structures themselves, and a menu already sorted.
What you are building
A sorting reflex.
Recipes do not transfer. Structures do — there are roughly eight, not a thousand, per Module 34.
And the forty-first drink is the one that decides whether the bar can serve a room full of people who order things they had somewhere else.
Verification and boundary
Given ten descriptions, name the structure for each.
Boundary: TABC governs service.
