  • Specify food-grade gas type, cylinder size, regulator range and fitting standard for the application.

Commissioning, use and maintenance standard

  1. Inspect cylinder, valve, restraint, regulator and hoses before opening gas.
  2. Back out the regulator adjustment where required, connect the correct fitting and open the cylinder slowly.
  3. Set pressure gradually and perform an approved leak check at every connection.
  4. Keep valves accessible and protect the cylinder from heat, impact and customer access.
  5. Close, depressurize and document leaks or damaged components before service or repair.

Training and sign-off

Set up a restrained training cylinder, secondary regulator and carbonation vessel under supervision. The trainee must identify pressure ratings, perform a leak check, shut down safely and explain the venue’s carbon-dioxide alarm response.
