Saving and returning to work
Understand the four parts of saving
The working draft, Saved Work link, portable document, and PDF are related—but they are not the same copy.
Tool fields autosave after a change. Wait for the “Saved locally” confirmation before closing the page.
Saved Work lists drafts found in this browser. Continue on the same browser and device.
The tool’s export, copy, or save control creates a separate portable completed copy.
Open the polished print view, then choose Save as PDF or a printer in the browser print window.
What is restored: the entries in the tool fields. Calculations and previews should be reviewed or regenerated after reopening. Exported files and PDFs are separate finished copies.
Important limits
- Browser drafts normally stay on one browser and device.
- Clearing browser storage, private-browsing data, Reset, Clear form, Start a new copy, Delete saved data, or Start a new report can remove the working draft.
- A downloaded document, copied summary, exported text, or PDF does not update automatically when the browser draft changes.
- Some mobile devices use a share or file menu instead of a desktop-style Save As window.
- Do not enter sensitive or confidential information on a shared device.
- Use the venue’s official system when policy, law, insurance, safety, or record-retention duties require it.
