Hot Drink Service Guide

A working guide to hot coffee, water, wine, spirits, thermal safety, and winter service.

Completed family guide

How this family works

Hot drinks require a service plan different from cold cocktails. The bar must control vessel temperature, hot-liquid handling, coffee or water quality, garnish, dairy, and the time between preparation and delivery.

Controls for a working room

  • Use heat-safe glassware or mugs approved by the venue.
  • Keep handles, rims, and exterior surfaces clean and dry.
  • Standardize hot-water or coffee volume and temperature.
  • Warn staff about dairy, caffeine, and elevated spill risk.
Use the specifications as starting points. Confirm brands, product labels, glassware, ice, garnish, cost, allergens, alcohol strength, and responsible-service procedure before adopting a house version.
