Illustrated step-by-step guide · Working tool
How to use this tool
Use this working tool to organize and complete the what the other side wishes you knew.

Have these ready
- The gig is the whole day, not the hour on stage — the drive, the load-in, the wait, the load-out, all for one set
- The room carries rent, staff, insurance, licensing, and utilities whether two people show up or two hundred
- Gas, gear, and the band’s pay all come out of the fee — it isn’t profit, it’s a small business covering its costs
- A slow night can lose money even with a great band; the guarantee is a real risk we take on you
- We promote your room too — our draw is partly your draw, and we’re partners in filling the place
- Your draw is what we’re really buying. Bring people, and everything else gets easier
- Tell us the truth about the deal up front; surprises at settlement are how you lose a good band
- Show up on time, do what you said, and don’t make us manage you — reliability is worth more than brilliance

Everything this tool can do
- Capture The gig is the whole day, not the hour on stage — the drive, the load-in, the wait, the load-out, all for one set, The room carries rent, staff, insurance, licensing, and utilities whether two people show up or two hundred, Gas, gear, and the band’s pay all come out of the fee — it isn’t profit, it’s a small business covering its costs, and A slow night can lose money even with a great band; the guarantee is a real risk we take on you
- Document We promote your room too — our draw is partly your draw, and we’re partners in filling the place, Your draw is what we’re really buying. Bring people, and everything else gets easier, Tell us the truth about the deal up front; surprises at settlement are how you lose a good band, and Show up on time, do what you said, and don’t make us manage you — reliability is worth more than brilliance
- Organize Sound matters more than you think — a bad PA or no engineer can sink a great band, We’re juggling the whole night — bar, staff, security, the other acts, the neighbors, TABC — your set is one piece of it, “Exposure” doesn’t pay rent; we play for a living, and real money is how we keep doing it, and Promote the show. We can’t fill the room alone, and “we’ll handle it” followed by a blamed turnout is exhausting
- Review We watch the drinking and the late nights because there’s another gig tomorrow — it’s the job, not a lack of fun, Read the room and play to our crowd; a great set for the wrong room empties the floor, A clean, on-time settlement at the end of the night means everything; making us chase payment burns the bridge, and Don’t oversell your draw to get the booking — we find out on the night, and we don’t forget
- Record We remember how we’re treated, and we come back to rooms that treat us right — and we tell other bands, We want you to win — a band that does well here makes us money and makes us look good. Same side, Treat us like partners, not just “the entertainment” — the respect tends to come back on stage, and Treat our staff well; the bartender and the door person talk to me

- Treating an estimate, draft, or planning result as a verified fact without checking the underlying information.

- Closing the page before the local save confirmation appears.
- Using the clear, reset, or new-copy control before saving the current finished work.
How saving, reopening, exporting, and printing work
Reopen this tool on the same browser and device through Saved Work. Browser drafts are not automatically synchronized to another phone or computer.
Opens the polished print workflow. In the browser print window, choose Save as PDF or select a printer.
Creates a separate portable completed copy through the browser or device save workflow. The exported copy will not update when the browser draft changes.
Removes or resets working entries. Save, export, copy, or print the current work before using this control.
Tool-specific note: The working fields save locally after changes. Reopen this tool on the same browser and device—or open it through Saved Work—to continue. A printed, exported, copied, or PDF version is a separate finished copy and does not update automatically when the browser draft changes.
What the browser draft keeps: the entries in the tool fields. A generated calculation, preview, copied summary, exported file, or PDF is a separate result and may need to be reviewed or regenerated after reopening.
After reopening: review the restored fields, confirm dates and assumptions are still current, and regenerate or recheck the finished result before using it.
Browser-local drafts remain on this browser and device unless a separate synchronization feature explicitly says otherwise. Do not place sensitive or confidential information in a shared browser.
